Fundraising
Our
current fundraising activities include: sale of Lions Christmas Cakes
$12.00 for 1.5 kg cake; Lions mints, letter from Santa – in
cooperation with local preschool centres. (With letters from Santa a
percentage of funds raised goes directly to participating preschool
centres.
Projects
Local
community projects may vary from fundraising by BBQ catering at various
community functions, local youth of the year from our district schools
as part of national selection of youth of the year, to maintenance of a
playground/parkland to improve safety and enjoyment for our local
children.
Lions
Clubs support the Lions Clubs International Foundation which has a
chief objective to allocate funds and resources to help solve major
humanitarian challenges worldwide including disaster responses.
Prevention and curing blindness where possible are also ongoing
activities supported by Lions.
